The Shumeez Scott Foundation was born from a simple but powerful belief: “IF YOU CAN DREAM IT, YOU CAN DO IT.” Founded in 2018 in Lentegeur, Mitchells Plain, the foundation is the heart-work of Shumeez Scott a young woman with Down Syndrome who refused to let a diagnosis define her potential.

What began as a personal journey of self-discovery through fashion and modelling has grown into a safe haven for over 50 students. We provide a space where individuals with Down Syndrome and intellectual disabilities are not just seen, but celebrated.

WHAT WE DO

We focus on more than support we focus on empowerment and social integration. Through creative workshops including arts, crafts, and professional modelling, our members develop confidence, practical skills, and a sense of independence.

WHY IT MATTERS

In many vulnerable communities, individuals with special needs face isolation and stigma. The Shumeez Scott Foundation exists to break these barriers, proving that with the right tools and a supportive environment, every individual can contribute meaningfully to society.

From humble beginnings in a family garage to hosting inclusive fashion shows at Athlone Stadium, our mission remains unchanged: to ensure every person, regardless of ability, has the freedom to think, create, and live with dignity.
